Péter Rippel-Szabó is a senior lawyer in the commercial group of international law firm Bird & Bird in Budapest. As a sports law specialist, he advises agencies, federations, clubs, athletes and sports gear manufacturers on commercial and player contracts, regulatory and contentious issues, transfers, and day-to-day operations across various sports. Péter has substantial experience on all aspects of organising major international sporting events, including negotiation and drafting of event organisation agreements, bidding, broadcasting, sponsoring, rights protection programmes and Covid-19-related issues, as well as on all legal and business issues concerning esports, including building up and operating complex regulatory and tournament structures and exploitation of rights. He also has sound experience in commercial law, advising market-leading companies from the IT, media, retail and real estate sectors on various services, lease and supply agreements, including devising and drafting complex contractual arrangements in regulated sectors.
