Orsolya Szabadné Kázmér (HUN)

Her career began at SWISS KRONO Kft., which was also her first workplace.

She started in finance and, over roughly a decade and a half, progressed to a senior management position. Since 2017, she has served as Managing Director of the company’s Vásárosnamény plant, the Hungarian production facility of the international SWISS KRONO wood-based materials group. The group operates in eight countries, while the Vásárosnamény site is its smallest, yet highly efficient, production unit. Orsolya is not a typical externally appointed executive; she built her career within the company, starting in finance and administration before gradually moving into increasingly senior leadership roles.

In a 2025 interview, she also spoke about working in an industry traditionally dominated by men, where women remain underrepresented, particularly in leadership positions. Within the group, she is the only female plant director. She believes that leadership benefits from having both men and women represented, as they can bring different perspectives to decision-making. As a senior executive, she believes that ego should be set aside and the interests of the team placed first.

She therefore views success not as an individual achievement, but as the result of collective effort. As a leader, she places particular emphasis on maximising production capacity, optimising costs, reducing energy consumption and, importantly, supporting employee wellbeing.
