For a period spanning 26 years from 1993, Harvey forged a reputation for innovation, deep knowledge, and the ability to get things done while remaining a popular figure. The 26 years were spent at Scarborough FC, Bradford City AFC, Leeds United AFC and then the EFL (English Football League). The Club experience was across all four divisions of professional football in the English pyramid. As CEO of the EFL, responsible for the administration of the League competition, Carabao Cup and EFL Trophy, the 6 years at the helm coincided with commercial growth, the creation of iFollow and many other initiatives that are now relied on by many. In parallel, the standing of the EFL was significantly enhanced and financial distributions to Clubs increased season on season.

Since leaving full-time executive employment in 2019, now operates his own Consultancy business, Wantaway Limited and is a Director of Wrexham AFC. He consulted to Rob Mac & Ryan Reynolds for Inner Circle Sports and following their purchase of Wrexham AFC became their strategic advisor in 2021. The progress of the Club is well documented and Harvey credited as the guiding hand behind the scenes that delivered this success. The story of the Club is told through the Emmy award winning Disney FX docuseries ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ where he regularly features.

He is best described as a ‘one stop shop’ for the football industry, such is his scope of knowledge and expertise, covering the many varied issues that arise and ability to maximise potential in all areas.
