Máté Havas is Operations and Academy Director at ETO FC Győr, combining football development with organisational leadership.
His career in football began after an injury ended his playing ambitions at a young age. He first worked in coaching and youth development at Ménfőcsanak, helping build a structured grassroots pathway. He joined ETO in 2009 and progressed from U7 assistant coach to senior academy leadership. In 2017, he moved to Puskás Academy, initially focusing on talent identification and later academy operations. He holds a degree in Sports Management and has completed UEFA A and MLSZ academy director qualifications. His work focuses on talent development, efficient academy structures and pathways connecting youth players with professional football. At ETO, he supports closer cooperation between the academy and first team to improve player progression. He also contributes to strategic projects connecting football, education, infrastructure and regional partnerships in Győr. His leadership approach emphasises sustainable development, organisational efficiency and creating realistic opportunities for young Hungarian players.
Through his work, he aims to strengthen ETO’s long-term sporting model and its academy’s competitive position.
